Ending corrosive acid violence

Our call to action

We are calling for European corporates involved in the manufacturing, sale, distribution or use of acid, to urgently address local and global supply chain due diligence in the handling, storage, sale and disposal of acid corrosives. By ending easy access to acid, we can prevent future attacks from occurring.

Acid violence is a form of premeditated violence usually committed against women. It is rarely intended to kill. The intent is to cause life-long suffering. It is vital we act now to prevent attacks, both in the UK and internationally.

ASTI is grateful to law firms A&O Shearman (Germany, Belgium and UK) and Boekx Adocaten (Netherlands) for their legal support on this campaign.
